Sunset
Hi,
So what my fellow Steemians up to?
We had again a gorgeous sunny day in Munich. It was just as it should be, not to hit, not to cold, with a slight breeze.
We have a hill next to us where we can the city and the Alps. This is one of our favourite chilling spots.
A good friend of mine passed away yesterday evening. I'm not sad, as it might be better for him as he was very sick and his life was a torture. It would be egoistic from me to think something else. He was also over 80. Yes, I have also some older friends with whom I like to hang out. Age shall not be a criteria for friendship.
The setting sun was fitting to the thoughts I had. Just peaceful.
When somebody you like dies, could you feel peace? For me it is hard, even if this time I could. We are egoistic beings, feeling everything from our perspective.

Yesterday my grandfather passed away, and I have similar feelings like you do... My grampa was 90 years old, sick and suffering and he died in a hospital. I'm not sad or something like this, but at peace with it.
He had a long life, with all kind of experiences. He took care of his five childrens and many grandchildrens (during our summer holidays), he worked his land, and fight for it when communists took it away. Left without land and animals, but with small kids to feed, he did the heavy work of building roads in the 60s and 70s (at that time, in my country this was mainly a heavy manual work). He lived to see the communism fall, he got all his land back in '90 and used his every drop of energy to take care of it, and this way to be an example in his small community.
We gather now all the family to give our final respect. And to share our memories.
