Samuel Barber

Hello,

because it's monday, I'll post under the #MondayTrance #tag. This #tag was started by @andyjaypowell. You should follow him because he is a cool guy.

Today I will tackle one of the most famous songs for trance music, namely Adagio for Strings. The original dates from 1936 and was written by Samuel Barber (Samuel Osborne Barber II). The American has been inspired by a trip to Europe, especially from his trip to Italy.

The first performance took place in 1938, where the well-known conductor Arturo Toscanini brought it to life.

This song is mostly played as a sign of mourning. It was played, for example, at the announcement of the death of Princess Diana, the death of John F. Kennedy, and the funeral of Albert Einstein.

Hallo,

The best known version is that of Tiësto. It was also played at the opening of the Athens Olympics.
