Challenge - start making money with 0 funds - 8
Hello,
my challenge inspired by @steemmatt continues. Please follow him on his mission to make some good money by saving one step at the time our planet. His content is cool, trust me on this.
This week I was only 3 days on the road. I did buy some stuff from ebay-kleinanzeigen, but not for flips. We use them for a while and then we sell them with a markup on it. I don't feel guilty a bit to make money on a object that I have used. The next owner can do the same and I helped the previous owner get rid of it.
I tried to get some decent stuff, but most good stuff is gone in minutes after it is posted. I don't take stuff that is not sold fast. If I would make a living out of it, I would buy a warehouse to keep the stuff for sale. Well warehouses in Munich are expensive, so it needs to be profitable.
I think I will reach the target to have 300 € till end of March. I think this year, the target will be to buy a van latest in December with the profit. A van could be used as storage and would help with the transport. Now, I go by foot mostly and will use a touring car for bigger objects.
The chair was sold for 8 € after I bought the missing piece for 2 €. I'm happy I could do this flip with a little work. The time invested for the gain is still far from minimum wage, but a little better than a 400 € job. In Germany there are jobs for 400 € month where you work 20 hours a week without paying any tax for it.
I did two rounds of cleaning around the block. It is a good exercise and keeps the neighborhood clean. I found 14 plastic bottles and cans that I recycled for 3.5 €. I think by cleaning the area I do a service for all around. Yes, there is professional cleaning from the city and from housekeeping firm, but if I see that I do two bags of plastic on each walk, I think I help the environment also as the trash gets recycled. If everyone would recycle their own trash and some of what they find around, the world would be better and cleaner.
I plan to plant 20 trees next year on a land plot I acquired some weeks ago near my parents house. Planting trees is a no brainer in saving the planet.
In my weekly overview I changed the time format. It displays now hours and minutes and when I will have days I will add them there.

And how did you buy the first batch of stuff to sell if you had 0 funds?
I did not buy it. We have different portals where people give away stuff for free. Mostly because they need the space and don't want to spend time on it.
In Germany you need to bring this stuff to a special place where you pay that they take it. if you dump it on the street there are huge fines. So people rather give them away for free to avoid any head ache.
I see. I'm all about selling stuff instead of throwing it out, but my family is all about throwing stuff out instead of selling it. I'll consider your business model in the future. Thanks!
