One house unit in Cot Keutapang Jeumpa Bireuen survived the fire.

One unit of a semi-permanent construction house belonging to Nabahani (41) in Tgk Di Krueng Hamlet, Cot Keutapang Village, Jeumpa District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, caught fire at around 13.20 WIB, Tuesday, 18/6/2024.

The quick assistance of residents and Bireuen firefighters helped put out the fire, saving the house from a major disaster and the front walls, bed and walls were burned down.

According to information, when the fire occurred, Nabhani, as the owner of the house, had gone to a friend's place, while his wife and three children had gone to their parents' house for Eid.

Local residents saw fire coming out of the front wall of the victim's room. As soon as they saw the fire and smoke coming out, the residents immediately ran to the location and poured water to extinguish the flames. The residents also asked the fire brigade for help.

Not long after, three units of the Bireuen fire fleet arrived at the scene. Firefighters together with the local community succeeded in extinguishing the fire in one of the rooms.

After the fire was extinguished, it was discovered that the front wall, bed and mattress were burnt, while everything else survived the disaster. There were no victims in the fire incident which only caused material losses.

Zulfikar (29 years old), one of the local builders, said that at that time he and his friend were sitting in a kiosk not far from the scene of the incident.

"There were several people sitting in the kiosk and I saw fire coming out of the front wall of the victim's room," he said.

As soon as they saw the fire and smoke coming out, Zulfikar and other residents immediately ran to the location and poured water to extinguish the flames. The residents also asked the fire brigade for help.

Upon arrival at the location, fire crews together with residents helped water and cool the fire hotspots in the house. Said Zulfikar.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Bireuen Disaster Preparedness Cadet Coordinator Forum (Tagana), Zulfikar GA or who is familiarly called Adun GA confirmed that a fire had occurred in Tgk Di Krueng Hamlet, Cot Keutapang Village, Jeumpa District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, burning at around 13.20 WIB , Tuesday, 18/6/2024.

Nabahani lives in the house with four dependents, namely his wife Nurmuliani (35) and three children, namely Anisa Marzatilah, Durratun Nafisa and Muhammad Raffa Fauzan.
