The Chancellor of the Islamic Religious Institute (IAI) Almuslim Aceh, Peusangan Bireuen, Dr Nazaruddin Abdullah MA along with two others, on Tuesday (25/6/2024) were appointed as chairman of the supervisory board,
secretary and member of the supervisory board of Baitul Mal Regency (BMK) Bireuen.
The inauguration was carried out by the Acting Regent of Bireuen, Aulia Sofyan PhD, represented by the Regional Secretary of Bireuen, Ir Ibrahim Ahmad MSi, at the Oproom of the Bireuen Regent's Office.
The other two supervisors appointed were Rizwan Sulaiman SAg from practitioners as secretary and Tgk Akthaillah Daud from MPU Bireuen as a member for the 2024-2029 term of service.
They are three people who were the result of a selection carried out some time ago to replace the previous supervisory board chaired by Prof Dr Saifullah SAg MPd.
The Acting Regent of Bireuen, in a speech read by the Regional Secretary of Bireuen, Ir Ibrahim Ahmad, among other things, said that the inauguration of members of the BMK supervisory board for the 2024-2029 period was carried out based on the Decree of the Regent of Bireuen number 400.8.1/365 of 2024.
Its task is to provide sharia supervision over the creation and preparation of management and development policies by the BMK Agency as well as the implementation of management and development by the BMK Secretariat.
The inauguration procession also cannot be separated from the end of the term of office of the supervisory board for the 2019-2024 period.
He added that the Bireuen Regency Government is fully aware that managing the community's assets is not an easy matter.
Therefore, this condition is the joint responsibility of both the government and stakeholders to manage community funds in accordance with sharia principles.
So that the community's funds can grow where the ultimate goal is that the poor can be empowered, if previously they were mustahik, then later they changed their status to muzakki.
The Acting Regent of Bireuen added that the role and function of the government, BMK secretariat, BMK body and supervisory board as well as the community play an important role in developing Baitul Mal for the better.
"We hope that the three pillars in Baitul Mal, namely the BMK Agency, the supervisory board and the secretariat, can collaborate well in organizing, recording and empowering the people's economy so that it is stronger and more efficient, without prioritizing each other's egos which can hinder and harm the region and its people. the poor in particular and muzakki who have distributed zakat, infaq or alms through Baitul Mal.
"We hope that we don't let public trust, which has been good so far, fade or even decline sharply just because of personal or group interests so that the goal of alleviating poverty is neglected," he said.
