It has now been a couple of days that I touched ground in Mexico City. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience the authentic Mexican way of life: I was able to stay with a Mexican girl that I met on my flight back from Anarchapulco2017. Throughout my time here, we went exploring the city - meaning I mostly laid back and tried to take in as much as I could.

The campus of the university here is the biggest I have seen in my life! Apparently over 350.000 students are enrolled in the university and it is like a city of it's own.

Mexico is fascinating! The people are fascinating! Everywhere you go there are shops to buy whatever you need. Even if you have to stop at a red light, a local entrepreneur will take care of your thirst or sugar cravings. They have a lot of sweets here - not a big fan.
What I am a big fan of, is the weed. For one ounce you pay something like 100 pesos, which would be 5€/$. Amazing. The quality is not the highest - pun intended - but still, I m not going to complain. +420 points for México.

The food tastes great, but my gut tells me it is no solution longterm. In the first week we ate out a lot and I dreaded the encounters with the toilet. (Why is it built so round, do they want to increase the sound of farts??). Anyhow, I think once we are set up with our own kitchen that problem will take care of itself. The méxican way of eating is just a little too carb heavy for me.

I have met up with my buddy, Graeme, and we will be traveling together from now. So far we have already seen the pyramids and many places in the city itself. The fun question is always for food: "What do you feel like having?" - "Well what is there, except for some variation of tortilla?" --- Not anything, really.

Graeme and I also decided to start a YouTube Documentary Series on the life in México. So far we have not started a new channel, but check out the newest video I made using Final Cut Pro X:
