Yes, I am a morning person! I love the morning because it gives you a fresh start at the day. My morning routine deserves the credit for all my productivity. I carefully developed a routine that is specifically tailored to me I suggest you get one too!
As soon as my alarm wakes me up I quickly head to the kitchen to get my breakfast started. I usually eat steel cut oats cooked with water and coconut almond milk. Raisins, strawberry’s, granola, and chia seeds are my go to toppings, I usually shoot for higher protein intake because it’s necessary as a vegetarian. Black coffee is a must have but since I usually dehydrated when I wake I chug 2 cups of water before I even touch that. One of the biggest contributors to my days motivation is the inspiring videos that I watch while I eat my breakfast. I think its key to stay focused on the things that matter in the morning because you do not want to waste your willpower on unnecessary distractions.
After that, I drink more water and get started on my yoga. If you haven’t got into the yoga you are missing out. Definitely one of the best habits that I have created for myself and Its one of the only activities that I believe everyone should be doing. I end my yoga session with a 10-minute meditation then head to the front door for my shoes for a morning run. Doing something you absolutely hate in the morning is critical, if you do something that is hard for you it makes everything else throughout the day 10 times easier. Running gets you those endorphin's you need for productivity and most importantly I’ve hated running all my life so it makes me feel like a savage when I finish it.
Usually, I’ll run to a small nature trail about a mile from my house and go on a little walk. Being connected to nature everyday increases creativity and clears your mind of all modern distraction so yes, I turn off my phone and enjoy what mother nature has created for us. Being in a box all day disconnected from fresh air and sunlight hides us from the energy we were meant to live in, remember we just started spending most of our time in buildings before nature was the norm for mankind. To top it all off, I take a cold shower because it takes me out of my comfort zone. Plus, cold showers have hidden benefits that people don’t usually take advantage of.
