A garden is the result of a long work .., made of ideas of hopes and so many errors.
It is not easy to grow many plants ... or rather, they all have their particular needs which, often, are not satisfied in the area where we want to grow our plants and flowers.
In short, our desires regarding gardening cannot always be realized.
And then we can do two things: each time we propose to keep the plant we like so much at home, knowing that sooner or later it will die or we try to be more meticulous and learn about plants, flowers and their habits. Then we compare this information with the features of our garden and move on!
So the important thing is the strategy to follow ... and so you won't have disappointments.
I will give you some suggestions.
Start with the temperature. If you live in a very hot area, try to grow flowers like azaleas or camellias ... even if you like them a lot.
They will never make it. Guaranteed.
Perhaps the succulents can give you, in this case, great satisfactions ... They are beautiful and simple to cultivate.
