100th Post! Baskets (the Clown) Review
I recently started watching Baskets, a show on FX starring Zach Galifianakis, through Hulu and have been loving it. Galifianakis plays Chip Baskets, a clown who tried to make it big in Paris at clown school, but ultimately ends up as a rodeo clown.
It's a feel-good show in the sense that you'll feel good you aren't Chip Baskets. Once he's living back with his mother in Bakersfield, California, his luck keeps getting worse. The show digs surprisingly deep at times and deals with serious real-issues, albeit in a usually comedic way.
Each episode feels refreshing; the writers are great at putting Baskets in all kinds of situations outside of the rodeo. Baskets being a clown is a part of who is he, and you find out there's much more to Baskets than that.
