The truth about being called a 'nice person'

in #life10 years ago

How often is it that whenever you meet somebody, chat with him or her a little and when a friend asks you what that person is like, your only reply is, "Oh he's pretty alright. He's a nice person."

Honestly, whenever I find myself saying that or hear that from a friend, I immediately that think that nothing else interesting can be said about that person.

Being called 'nice' is overrated man.

Here are some truths about being called nice.

1) It's boring

It means you're uninteresting and nothing that is worthy of standing out can be said about you.

When someone comment that you're nice, it's usually in a mundane tone, like, "Oh yeah. He's pretty nice. I guess. Yep."

MEH. Boring.

Come on! Step it up! Be more than nice. Make a SUPERB first impression.

Talk about your passion. Talk about your goals in life. Talk about your cool ideas and how you actually think that you can change the world.

Be memorable so people will always remember your name.

2) It's just not enough

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Being nice is not enough to get what you want in life.

No, sorry, you don't earn karma points that way and then magically get what you want.

That's called sitting around and doing nothing.

If you want something in life, just go all out, work hard and get it.

If you want something, stop being the nice guy who finishes last. Just aim for first place.

3) Yet, nice is a necessity some people just don't get, so kudos to you

It doesn't take a genius to be nice. It's also common sense to be nice.

But some people, even adults just don't grasp the concept.

If you're nice, good on you. Be proud of it. Some people are not nice and you automatically stand out among them already.

But, work to go beyond that.

There's no reason why you can't have both.

Be proud of how nice you are. Be proud of how COOL you are.

Then show it off in a humble manner. Yes, that can be done.
