Call this a rant, but I've a real problem when people say that they're 'busy' these days...

It's a god damn pandemic.

It's spreading worldwide.

For whatever reason, everyone is busy today.

Problem #1: Everyone is busy as fuck

Right?

I don't think anything needs to be said here.

Problem #2: It has become a convenient excuse to not be accountable

You just need to say, "Oops sorry, I was busy."

That's why they didn't reply on time, at all or bother to show up at whatever.

Problem #3: It has spilled over into social media wherein people actively choose to be not accountable on deceptive levels

This is when people tweak their social media settings so they can appear unavailable to anyone at any time; to become a ghost.

I know of friends who disappear all day and come back with a "Oops, I just saw this message", which is easy to think that is a lie.

Problem #4: Ultimately, it's guys like me who care that will lose out and I can't do a damn thing about it

This is the part I say...

I get it... you're busy. You're legit busy. You've your kids. You've deadlines. You've places to go to. Whatever.

I will never be the friend who tells you, "Yo, how hard is it to reply a text?"

"Yo, I am not asking you to report to me every hour or something. I just want a text to know that you're okay."

"I mean, you can easily do that at night on your bed before you sleep right?"

"Come on man, your MOBILE phone is with you at all times right?"

And so on.

These protests are useless. They never work at all. They'd only serve to annoy.

Yet, it is 'busy' people who make the conscious decision to not be accountable at all.

It is your prerogative to of course.

The result is that the rest of us can't do a thing about it.

Heck man, to continue this article with an attempt to convince people to stop being so busy because life short and shit would only result in an ironic mess.

So let me just sum it up:

Everybody is busy today, so it really doesn't make you special.

To say you're too busy all the time for anything is a bad excuse. I know you're better than that.

Using 'busy' to lie and deceive is not cool.

You may have made the conscious decision to not be accountable. No one will fault you for that. But know that we're mostly worried for you; really wish you were here because your single text can make or break our day.

And finally, you have your entire life ahead of you to be busy anytime you want. It'll never end.

For your own wake, do something different before you die.
