Belgrade spring #2 - Street photography
These last few days have been wonderful here in Belgrade, as you could see from my previous post. I've taken the opportunity to go out on photo walks and ended up with a bunch of shots that I felt were worth sharing. So here is the second part of this mini series.
Small announcement - I'll be starting a project "15 rolls in 15 days" or something along those lines where I'll go outside to shoot for 15 days straight and show you the results at the end of each day. No, I won't shoot film, but I love how the title sounds. :) It will start towards the end of next week.
Until then, hope you enjoy the photos.

Odlicne slike Alci! Ne kazu zabadava da Bg ima dusu. :D
Hvala! Tesko je napraviti lose fotke kad je grad ovako ziv. :D
I like the idea! You could even limit yourself to taking 24 photographs or so, to emulate shooting an actual roll of film. I've done that before, really makes you think about your composition more
Also, I dig the photos. Makes me want to get into street photography :)
Yes, that's exactly what I was planning to do! Limit myself to 24 shots and really study each one well. I'm glad you like the idea and the photos. :)
Sooo many dogs!!! I love it :) good street photography like this must take a lot of patience...
It takes patience, curiosity and awareness, something I'm still learning a lot. Dogs are great subjects for street photography! :) Glad you liked it!
where can I buy some of the magic that you are using to make something so normal look so good? That building is just a building, but it kept me looking for way too long. Thanks for sharing!
When there's good light and geometry anything can look good. :) Glad you liked it!
I'll go try for myself then ;)
You already have the skills judging by your last post. :) But it's always good to practice.
Thanks for the compliment ;) I wouldn't say that the landscape in Panama qualifies as normal, though! (But yeah, practice makes perfect...spring is here!!)
Hey man, that's a cool idea for a challenge. I see that @nathanielwise suggested that you limit yourself to 24 photos. I'll just add that if you want to make the experience even more old-school, you can deactivate the image review after capture. You'll see your shots when you get home :)
Btw, I like your shots and the fact that they are in color. Spring wouldn't be spring in B&W :) Is the last one taken from a hill? I really dig it.
That will be a real challenge as I usually take a glance at my shots after I take them. But I really like the idea and will go for it! There will probably be some surprises when I get home. :D
Last photo - yeah, it is a small hill from where you have a nice view of the city panorama. Lovely spot. Glad you enjoyed the photos and definitely, color works much better here. :)
Great! I look forward to seeing your first post :)
I love these pictures. You are really good at capturing people's emotions, we can feel their joy. The pictures are so dynamic, we can sense the motion.
I'm glad you enjoyed the photos!
I think that's a great title for your 15 day challenge. Love it. and I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
Oh those little dogs....they are so aggressive, well at least the ones I see ..... they think they are big.
I would enjoy the Farm to Table outdoor cafe...I can see the people are enjoying themselves.
The sunset on that tunnel fortress that you like is stunning. A different angle of it than I've seen before from you.
My favorites? The last one - great friendship photo story and the lovely older lady selling daffodils trying to get the young lady's attention.
I'm glad you like the challenge! I'll limit myself to 24 shots per day (the common number of exposures for film camera) and really pick my shots and work on composition. And I'll post at least 10 photos at the end of each day. And if I don't have enough good photos, you'll get to see my mess-ups. :D You're welcome to join the challenge.
Those outside cafes are great and there's so many of those here. Kind of brings people outside and together. The fortress has many tunnels, this one you probably haven't seen before so didn't recognize.
I really like your choice and the reasons behind! Those two photos are some of my favorites as well.
I think I would like to join in with you on that. That will give me inspiration and a goal. 24 shots only and pick the best 10? or 15? Post each day. Let me know when to start!!
BTW I tried to find the discord channel to find out more about curie....couldn't find it.
Great! I'm thinking 10 best photos per day, starting in about 7-10 days (we're having some bad weather announced in the upcoming days). I'll let you know when I start.
Here is an invite link to Curie's discord channel. https://discord.gg/jQtWbfj Find me in the pinned messages in general channel or I'll find you tomorrow.
Thanks!
Haha, I was thinking too about joining this one! :) But considering how bad I am at challenges (and street photography in particular), it will be better if I don't. Oftentimes, I go on the street full of energy just to come back home tired and without a single decent photo.
This challenge would be good chance to improve then. :) I feel, to become good at street photography you have to go out and practice a lot.
I actually did that yesterday. I went out with the intention to take max 30 photos without looking at image review. I ended up having a couple of decent shots. Unfortunately, I somehow managed to delete all of them after transferring them to the PC. 🙄
Oh I didn't realize it was street photography - I've never done it.
It doesn't have to necessarily be street photography. Most of mine will probably be because that's what I enjoy the most and want to push myself to go outside, but you go with whatever you like. :)
Have you joined Curie discord? Didn't find you there.
I like the church seen thru the trees and the minimal approach and geometry of the glass office building. And the husky is too cool for his canine world. :) Nice series.
I'm glad you like the series. :) More coming soon.
Good photos. One of the few things I miss not living close to a city is being able to do street photography. It isn't the same in a small town.
True, in the big city you can easily blend in, while in a small town everyone notices the person with the camera. :)
I wish I was talented in this way! I think your work is amazing and you can tell that you have an eye for photography! :) Keep the posts coming! I'm excited to see what's next!
Thank you! Much more coming soon. :)
