Basic Security On Steemit

What's up fellas?
Alright my basic aim here is to talk about the different keys on steemit and what're they used for.
Just like any other platform you'll join that requires you to save passwords so you wouldn't forget them later..well..steemit's got something like that, but they're called KEYS instead and unlike those other platforms there's like a ton of em here on steemit to memorize (Save I mean...you've gotta have an einstein level IQ to memorize 'em all) but unlike in others, these keys in steemit have and grant different access to different things.

Yes I have retrieved all my steemit keys

HOW TO RETRIEVE KEYS:
Your account has real value meaning that there's no way to retrieve your account if your keys are lost ESPECIALLY your MASTER and OWNER key. Be wise and have an offline copy of all your keys saved. However in the case of not having an offline copy but you have your master password then that will serve. Click on keys and permits and generate new keys.

DO YOU KNOW THE FUNCTION OF EACH KEY
Yes I do, let me explain

STEEMIT KEYS:
In general, they're just basically a long mix of letters and numbers that you shouldn't share with a third party.

1. MASTER KEY:
   Picture this key as the boss of all keys and the most important. It allows you to generate the other keys for an account. In pictorial representation it's like a box that houses your stuff, in other to get those stuff inside the box you'll need to open it first with its key
   HINT: NEVER LOOSE IT

2. POSTING KEY:
   It does as the names boasts. It just allows you to post stuff😑. Picture you browsing and you wanna send something, you hit the send button and CAPTCHA pops up to verify your human and once you verify then you can send it, well it's just like the posting key. It allows you post, comment and basically be interactive with the platform.

3. ACTIVE KEY:
   This key is used for more specific and sensitive tasks such as updating profile details, transferring funds, converting steem dollars etc.

4. OWNERS KEY:
   Meet your saviour, The Owners Key. Basically this key enables you change what's the nature of any of your default keys to your own simple choice. Example, I open my steemit account and my master key is a mix of hebrew and Greek( jeiag173iehalqpdbsiwkwjd83hdjqo7hsja), with the owners key I could simply change it to (Thank God the owners key exists) and make it the password. You can also use it to recover compromised accounts.

5. MEMO KEY:
   This key is important in encrypting and decrypting memos when transferring funds, and is to be used after the # sign.

HOW DO YOU PLAN TO KEEP YOUR MASTER PASSWORD?
Easy. Simply download them as an offline PDF version saved to your documents.

STEEMIT WALLET AND IT'S FEATURES
The wallet is accessible after the user has successfully logged into their account. You can access it by clicking on your profile, then wallet.

Steemit Tokens can be transferred from one's steemit account to another steemit account or even to a binance wallet in the case of withdrawals

HOW TO TRANSFER FROM STEEM WALLET TO STEEM WALLET:
STEPS:
-Click wallet open and click on the drop down button besides the steem valve you have

I have a whopping and embarrassing 0.00 Steem so pardon me 😅 (but if you've got at least 0.1, then a green drop down would appear close to it, then click on transfer then fill in the necessary form)

HOW TO POWER UP STEEM:
Click on the drop down button besides your steem value,click on the power up button (note that this will ask you how much of the liquid steel you want to power up). When done filling the form, click on Power Up. After some seconds you'll notice your steem power has increased. You've successfully powered up.
