#CHARIS: EPISODE 1

in #women8 years ago (edited)

Hi steemians, today is international Women's Day. Set aside to celebrate all women everywhere, the strong, the crushed, the achieved, the struggling, every woman. Womanhood carries an inherent powerful force that only few women know how to wield.

That's why I would be celebrating every woman with this new book titled CHARIS.

I hope every woman gets to read this. Share with your mothers, wives, sisters, friends. Resteem, upvote, comment. Let's celebrate the beauty and strengths of womanhood.

THE BEGINNING

I sniffed, I smelt something burnt
I sniffed again, I smelt smoke.

I tried opening my eyes to clear my doubts. Alas! the whole store was covered in smoke. My mind raced back to the waffles I was making before I quickly took a nap that became an hour deep sleep

I had volunteered to make 140 pieces of waffles for the store through the night thinking I could do without sleeping after a busy night.

So here was the time math I did in my head to make me sleep and equally make the waffles.

It takes 1min to make one waffle with the waffle iron in good shape...so my nap time started once a waffle was in production till it becomes done.

So that gave me a minute to sleep and that arrangement got me in deep issue.

I am not one to cry for help, I would rather sort it out all myself. Like my mess, my worries.

I quickly opened the doors and windows of the store,

did I mention it was 2am in the morning? so everyone was fast asleep and I was practically the only one awake.

I didn't know how to handle a smoke situation, Fire? YES but not smoke..there was nothing I had learnt about a smoke outbreak.

So first, I switched off my hot waffle machine, I opened it and I found my waffle burnt black, I removed it and I thought I had the situation under control until I heard a loud bang. Right in my face, the waffle machine explode and that was it. I was knocked unconscious and I got the help I didn't think to call.

Next thing I woke up to was a worried boss and an angry mother.

My Boss was calm enough to tell me the aftermath of the menace and to tell me everything was under control maybe because he knew my mum would give it to me hot.

On the other hand, the words my mom told me are unpublishable... I had it Nigerian Mother style.

Till next time, resteem, upvote, comment.
