Good day all and welcome to my blog page once again. Thanks @debbiecrown for inviting me to participate in this contest. And my profound gratitude goes to @suboohi who organized this contest to remind us what self Medication is, and its dangers.

Before I go into the nitty gritty of self Medication, let me quickly share with us a short story.
Last year I went to visit a friend in the hospital who happens to be a medical doctor. On getting there I met them discussing about an incident that happened shortly before my arrival about a lady that used a drug to surppress headache without consulting a medical practitional because she believed it was an ordinary malaria as usual but guess what! It was her body they were carrying to the morgue. Immediately I burgged into the conversation and asked my friend, what could have caused her death? And his reply is what I am discussing shortly.

Now, before we discuss self Medication, we must know what drug is?

Drug is a chemical substance use as medication and most times prescribed by medical practitional used in treating, and preventing a disease when ingested into the body.

Self Medication: This is situation whereby people tends to get themselves drug for use without consulting medical professional to combat pain( either emotional or physical pain).

Is self Medication safe ?

No. Self Medication is dangerous and it has a lot of side effects which ranges from organ failure, blur vision, and lost of life.

What kind of self Medication do you practice?

In years back I indulged myself in self Medication but ever since I've been educated about its side effects, I've stopped.

Do you experience any adverse effect of your self Medication?

Back then I did experienced a lot of side effects ranges from severe pain, repeated recurring ailment, dizziness, fatigue, and lot more.

But recently the incident that happened last week where a lady lost her life as a result of self Medication was the worse I have ever seen.

Give some general disadvantages of self Medication.

• The drug may not work for the purpose being taken.

• it can lead to drug abuse

• it can cause drug-body-interaction

• it could worsen the whole situation

• it can lead to loss of life
