Pictures from my Hike yesterday.
Hi Everyone, as promised I am going to share some pictures from my hike yesterday. Instead of sharing my very best photography, I want to first share some of the unusual things I came across, that surprised me, and some that even scared me. Maybe you will find them interesting too?
I saw this and thought, oh look, it's a piece of fluff on top of this post. Maybe it is some seeds or something. Let's have a look. Nope. It's alive. And it was squirming away. I am willing to bet this thing was poisonous. I have heard of people getting quite sick from touching furry caterpillars and the like. I am guessing this is one of those, but honestly, I don't know. When I realized what I was looking at, I had just one reaction: Nope. Nope, No thanks. Haha. But who knows. Maybe it turns into the most amazing butterfly. It could be possible.
You might think this is just a branch coming out of this tree. It's not. It's a bug. I only noticed it was a bug because it was moving. I was afraid to get closer because I had no idea what it was. Does anyone know? The one at the top of the picture was also one of these bugs. I don't know, I like most insects, but this one creeped me out. What a great disguise though. If it hadn't been moving, I would have never ever noticed it.
Oh look, it's a leaf. Wait. Why is it moving? Just imagine walking through a forest and finding this on your skin? I would probably jump straight out of my skin of that happened!
Are those pupils? Are those its eyes? Is it looking directly at me? Why is it coming towards me? Why?
I came across this tree. There were these weird things hanging in the tree everywhere(about 8-9 of them). I thought, oh that's weird, what could those be?
Those are either some really long bees, or some really long wasps, or those are hornets. One thing for sure, those are scary and I was thankful I got out of there undetected. Scary.
Do you know what is in here? Me neither, but that is a large cocoon. I didn't stick around to find out.
A really big spider weaving a web.
This time I knew better than to think it was fluff or seeds.
Remember those experiments with spiders? Where they gave them different drugs and it affected how they spun their webs? This reminds me of that. I mean, what is going on here? If you look closely you can see a huge spider sitting on the other side of the web. If you haven't watched it: Check out this short video.
Mmm, slimy. If you look closely you can see it is leaving an actual trail of slime behind. Sime is really not my thing. Imagine waking up with one of these slithering across your face? Yeah, no. Nope. Nope. Nope.
Another friendly-looking spider. He's got a tasty treat. I'm just glad I am not a fly. Yikes.
Oh goody. Another spider! Just as scary in my opinion as the last ones. This is why people live in cities. Ladies and gentlemen, this is why. Nature is not for the faint of heart!
Check out these flowers. Weird right? I think they match the spiders quite well.
I thought these looked unusual too.
More weird spider webs. I mean, have you ever seen anything like it? That does not look normal to me at all. Charlotte, are you trying to tell me something?
If you live in a tropical climate, I don't need to tell you about ants. Every shape and size live here and they sure are plentiful. Everywhere you look there are ants. I am surprised they don't carry me away in my sleep.
Seed pods. To me they look other-worldly.
As does this. This does not look good to me at all. Bleh.
Check out this vine! At least, I think it is a vine. What else could it be?
Well, I hope the pictures weren't too horrifying. I hope you found them interesting.
Have a wonderful day! Tomorrow, I will post something a bit less sinister. Haha. ;)

That place is teeming with life!!!
I love the well placed humor, and of course the beautiful photographs as always! I'm hard pressed to find many photographers that put out this caliber of work out on a daily basis here on Steem. You have quite the talent Akiroq, (and those bugs know it because they all want to be close to you too!)
Keep up the great work! <3
P.S. LOL @ the embedded video 😂
