What I found from Thai kindness /

After I wrote that I wanted to try cooking bananas, a lady sold fried bananas at my favorite neighborhood market gave us her fried bananas "It's tasty, eat with your baby." I was happy that I could understand her saying "อร่อยค่ะ" (Aroi Ka / tasty) in Thai language :) We also got free chili from a person saying "it's a really little amount just take it" the other day.

I like this Thai kindness, relaxed feeling or doing things roughly up to a situation ... hard to say. Ah and at the first day we arrived in Thailand when we were on train a lady gave us a pack of Kleenex to clean our baby nose.

These also happened in other countries. When I was living in Kyoto, my favorite veggie shop owner gave me additional veggies saying "it's the last day of the week, take them too." I got free chili at a market in Portugal. I got free apples at a market in Germany.

Today I realized that I sometimes adhere too much "my thing" such as my time, my item etc these days. I wonder it's because I got stubborn because of my age or busy days before and after delivery or capitalism and individualism made me so. I wish I could recover flexibility in Thailand not to stick to "my thing" too much but taking things relaxedly and sharing what I have with others. Good that I could notice this in Thailand. It is well worth coming all the way to come to Thailand.

(Thank you) :)

That's Thailand. I took my bike to a gas station outside of Chiang Mai one time to get the tired fixed. The kid working at the gas station with his dad just gave me his homemade visor that he was wearing. So I gave him the Nike hat I was wearing.

I think the reason he gave me his visor is because he wanted my hat. He took a small risk giving it to me, not knowing if I'd reciprocate. But his risk paid off. So he got a nice hat, and I got a nice story to tell and a handmade visor with the word "Love" written on it that's too small for my head. I think I got the better end of the trade.

Today on a shared taxi our baby got cookies and was happy to have a lot of passengers to play with. I think in our case people who gave us something didn't expecting anything in return from us. I felt just they were kind and super baby friendly. And obviously we didn't have anything valuable ;)
Once I gave a chili seller Japanese 5 yen I kept in my purse as a charm to become rich. I'm not sure I could tell the background of 5 yen but I gave it to him wishing his successful business at the market.
I will make some Origami cranes to show appreciation tomorrow :)
