Micro Entrepreneurs on Street / 路上のマイクロ起業家たち

In Tirana, capital of Albania, there are many small shops or I must say micro entrepreneurs on street. They sell for example home grown plants, bananas, grapes in a plastic bucket,t hand rolled cigarets, baked corns etc. 

Some measure weight of pedestrians, which I saw for the first time here. During the communist time it was mandatory to measure ones weight and height until certain age. If a family didn't have a scale, people came and measure their weight and height. The system somehow remained on street but not to report weight and height. Pedestrians ask them to measure weigh so that they can proud on themselves.

The micro entrepreneurs do their business on street to avoid earning money by begging. Respect. I decided to buy my fruits and veggies from micro entrepreneurs.

By the way, talking about entrepreneurship, I heard from a person from a startup support office here that young Albanians prefer to become a civil servant and hung out in a cafe rather than to become an entrepreneur and work 24 hours 365 days for their own business. However there are many more start up contests, events and hackathons coming up these days. We will see what's going on here during our stay.

アルバニアの首都ティラナでは路上に商品を並べて売っている人たちをたくさん見かけます。バナナオンリー、ぶどうオンリーでプラスチックのバケツに入れて売っている人、タバコをまいて売っている人、ここまではインドなどでも見かけましたが、自作の鉢植えを売っている人もいます（一番気に入っていて毎度どんな植物が並んでいるかのぞいています）。なかなかクリエイティブで、路上のお店というよりも路上のマイクロ起業家たちと呼ぶ方があったいるかもしれません。

そんな中、体重計を置いていて体重を量ってくれる人を見かけました。共産主義時代に一定の年齢になるまで体重と身長を測る必要があり、体重計などがない家では人が来て測ってくれていて、その名残だそうです。今路上で体重を測ってもらう人は必要に迫られてというよりも、こうやって生計を立てている人たちが自分の仕事に誇りを持てるように体重測定をお願いするのだとか。

このマイクロ起業家たちは物乞いをしないでよいようにこうやって自身のビジネスを営んでいると聞き、私も果物や野菜を路上の小さいお店で買おう思うのでした。そして強く生きるぞ。

（ちなみに若い人は公務員になりたい人が多く、そこまで起業家精神には富んでいなくて、でも「この数年でスタートアップコンテストとかハッカソンとか流行りつつあるよ」とこちらの起業家オフィスの人がいっていました。滞在中にいろいろどんな感じか見られるの楽しみです。）
