"The Record of a Floating Life" states:

"The world is vast, time is limited,
Life is mundane, and fate is predetermined.
Life is resilient,
So we spend our lives in pursuit.
Perhaps often navigating through adversity,
Or occasionally feeling overwhelmed by reality.
But when we struggle to break into enchanting fairy tales,
When our souls draw near to warm places,
That heart, immersed in somewhat dimmed years,
Will be reignited once more.

For the vast majority of ordinary people,
I believe,
Simply living a life free from worry, with food and clothing,
Is already a great fortune.
Though, in all likelihood,
Such fortune
Is plain and unremarkable,
Not worthy of boasting,
Nor attracting the spotlight.

However,
In the passing decades,
We also desire ups and downs,
We also desire extraordinary stories,
We also desire to leave an indelible mark on our lives.
How do we achieve this?
Only through two paths:
A departure of the spirit or of the body.

In middle school,
I read Sanmao's books,
I saw the Sahara,
I experienced the Canary Islands.
Countless stories began to take shape in my mind:
Dazzling love, thrilling adventures,
And even a state of existence beyond the mundane.
And so, the dream began to sprout,
To strive to journey to distant lands became an obsession.

Finally, one day,
The cities that once invaded my dreams and the lush scenery
Were all beneath my feet,
Captured by my eyes.
In that moment,
I realized,
That which I once thought unattainable
Would eventually come to fruition.
Even the things I once fervently pursued
Were not beyond my grasp.

And thus,
We begin to seek new horizons,
No longer content with merely having been there,
But hoping to leave behind traces and evidence
Of the experiences we once felt.

I began to contemplate,
To observe,
To invest my emotions,
To sing for her,
To applaud all differences,
To be moved by the myriad forms of life in this world.

And so,
I truly learned respect.

Venice has no cars,
Yet it buzzes with constant human activity.
Three thousand meters above the snowy mountains,
Some wield snowballs, descending swiftly.
People wander the corners of the world, homeless,
Yet when our gazes meet,
Smiles still adorn our faces.

I believe,
The essence of travel
Is finally having the opportunity
To witness with our own eyes
The myriad forms of humanity.
It is finally having the opportunity
To cultivate a heart that embraces all.

Best wishes to all.
