The river that had left the shore,
Slow the mast in the middle ocean.
I thought it was Tufan Tufan,

Come back to the pit again.

আশার তরী

যে তরী কূল ছেড়ে গিয়ে ছিলো,
মাঝ সমুদ্রে মাস্তুল ছিড়ে।
ভেবে ছিলাম তুফানে তুফানে,
কোন এক দিন
আসিবে আবার কূলে ফিরে।
সেই আশায় বুক বেঁধে
দিয়েছি স্বপ্নেরর বেরিবাঁধ,
যদি হয় নদীর ভরাট।
ভরেনি নদী ভেঙ্গেছে কিনার,
দুখ খুড়ে অন্তর করেছে মরাট।

হারিয়ে গেছো বলে হইনি নিরাস
হয়তো আছো একটু দুরে।
স্মৃতির টানে দুঃখ ভুলে,
আসতে পারো কভু যদি মনে পরে।
তাই আজো অপেক্ষায়,
দুর পথ চেয়েছি হয়ে চাতক পাখি।
কুয়াশায় ঢাকা জীবনের সূর্য,
সুখ দিলোনা কভু উুকি।

সেই তরী আজ গিয়াছে ডুবে,
সে ফিরবে না আর ফিরবে না
_ এ কূলে।।
সেই প্রিয় আজ হয়েছে অন্যের,
সে আসবে না আর আসবে না,
_ কভু সুখ ভুলে।।
