Who you are helping today

Life in a metro! The other day I was travelling by metro after a long time. It was sad to see that every single person was plugged on to their earphones and mobile. Some even playing it so loud that the entire coach was being forced to listen. No one was looking eye to eye neither in the train nor at the station.

I decided to break the pattern a little bit. I started talking to people forcing them to take out their ear plug for a moment. I asked some to help me which train to take, how to reach the right platform, small talk with some on the weather and so on. And I noticed their faces transform the moment you look into their eyes and give them a warm genuine smile and a simple Thank you. Reinforced my belief every individual likes to help, likes to connect, likes to be appreciated. That is our true nature.
