A perpetual unfaithful

" The Perpetual Unfaithful"

The clock strikes midnight,
He holds onto his phone very tight,
Quietly he sneaks away from his wife,
A promise broken which was to be kept for life!

He stood alone in the balcony,
An exciting thought breaking his melancholy,
He unlocked his phone and started "swiping",
Deep inside his adrenaline was rising!

A day later he got a "match",
He was happy to have a catch,
The blatant lies in the conversation followed,
With a fake name that he had borrowed.

The unsuspecting "match" met him for a date,
There was a connect that seemed so great,
He made her feel as if she was the one,
All his wedding vows, he had mentally undone!

A beautiful affair kept him beaming,
The lady on the other side was happily dreaming,
Till one day she threw the "committment" word at him,
Suddenly the situation turned so grim.

Reality struck him with all it s might,
Was he actually doing something right?
The face of his wife and his baby smiling,
Flashed in front of him like thunder and lightning.

He was trying to balance two lives as one,
Trying to find bliss and some moments of fun!

Sitting at the crossroads of his unfaithful adventure,
He thought how to get out of this risky venture.
He let go of his new acquaintance,
Ghosting out of her life as if she was a nuisance,
The hapless woman now roams with a burnt heart,
So difficult for her to make a fresh start.

He flew back in the arms of his wife,
Convincing himself to not cheat her all his life,
Promising himself to start from the scratch,
His phone beeped "congratulations, you have a new match",
The adrenaline rushed again through his veins,
A perpetual "unfaithful" he shall remain.
