Where The Ocean Meets The Shore

A fun pattern and water scene for my mini sketchbook today. I love painting water bodies and want to get really good at portraying them. Representing underwater scenes and stories are very interesting for me but it is very important to understand light sources and color translucency to be able to make it look like it's under the water.

One of my favourite sources of inspiration is the artist heikala. Her way of depicting such illustrations is nothing like I have seen and it is mesmerising to be indulged in them. Watching her artworks acts as a fuel for motivation and inspired by them, I painted this scene today. The white lines ended up too thick and I didn’t get the delicacy that I wanted. However it was fun making this and there is always room for improvement!
