The Forbidden Fruit Rests (Gouache Painting)
For today’s reference practice in gouache, I am glad that I chose a smaller size of sketchbook because this one unexpectedly took me 3 hours to paint :D I don’t mind the hours at all but yes I might have been over ambitious and selected a not-too-appropriate timing for it. Anyway, my end thoughts of this one are that I still want to achieve more of that “tiling” effect that you can achieve in a thicker consistency of paint with more complex light sources.
I accidentally discovered another fantastic artist, Karen O’Neil whose work mesmerized me just from one look. I am excited to apply her style and techniques in gouache so I am gonna go do that. As always, I appreciate any constructive feedback from you guys. Cheers ❤️
