Finally done with this painting today. I am really liking the grey contrast of the background & the foreground. Instead of giving a flat wash I decided to make some texture & gradience.
Paper: Cold Presses Watercolor Paper 300 Gsm, 100% acid free.
Watercolor: Kuretake & Camlin

I've always wanted to do watercolor but decent paper for the medium is a major gatekeep for me at the moment. Do you have any advice?
Well there are plenty of options online so getting them shouldn’t be too hard. And if you are talking about the paper type, then you can start out with the 190 gsm ones :) They are quite good for beginning with watercolors. Hope this helped!

Really good! I'm trying to practice watercolor and it's quite hard. But I'm loving it more and more :)
