Courage is Grace Under Pressure 🌼
Hello Hola and Assalamualaikum Everyone!!
My country Pakistan is a paradise for travelers if you really explore its beauty. From the highest peaks of freezing K-2 to the scorching desserts of Thal, from the ravishing lakes up north to the High tides of Arabian Sea, from the Badshahi Mosque to Mohenjo Darro and Harrapa Ruins, you can find every place that makes you feel good. The diversity of food, languages, culture and four seasons make it worth every penny count.
My recent trips that I really cherished include some the mind boggling places like Cherat, Kalabagh, Kalam and Hunza.
Cherat KPK, Pakistan:
I would be sharing my Adventures of South Asia's Largest Zipline (Skybridge) in Cherat, about 3.5 hrs drive from Islamabad.
My Husband, as always my partner in crime took me to the most daring place I have ever been, the Skybridge Zipline of Cherat, couple of months ago.
These adventurous trips more often than not are never planned which makes them even more exciting. Likewise, one fine sunny Sunday we woke up, had our breakfast and suddenly I was told to gear up in my joggers and jeans not knowing what is waiting for me.
We left Peshawar at about 1500 hrs, driving with my favourite music ON without knowing where I am headed to. The breakfast was an old story when my tummy started craving of Pakoras and Tea, the traditional snack of my country. When the clouds started to build up, between the peaks of Cherat, we stopped on a dhabba (road side hotel) for the same Pakoras and Tea, and it was as lovely as I had expected. We continued soon after and reached Cherat at about 1745 hrs.
Twirling and circling on the uphill Road, we finally reached the hot spot of Skybridge Zipline, beautiful as a dream.
The dream suddenly turned to horror when my husband told me that I am getting hung up from a rope on my shoulders and zip through what seemed like miles long and millions of feet high Zipline.
Scared as hell I told him No, made myself sick, fake broke my ankle, but I was not getting out of it.
As soon as I was done with every excuse in the book, my husband put me on the weight machine. For the first time ever I was praying for the weight machine to clock a lot of pounds but that too was of no use as the machine operator told me that I am ideally suited for the Zipline ride.
We put on the gear with my heart beating faster than usain bolt. My husband held my hand on the platform and the beats started to slow down. I finally dared and jumped clutching his hand tight as ever with my eyes closed. After three odd seconds I opened my eyes and the adventure became an everlasting memory. It was one of the most awsome experiences of my life. Fizzing through the mountain high Zipline, with the cold air gushing across my body, I felt like flying without wings. Back and across, it was a dare to remember and I suddenly fell in love with Cherat.
After the fantabulous ride, we had coke and snacks on the adjacent cafe. As soon as the sun settled down, we left the place behind for the ride back to Peshawar but the incredible moments had been stored in memories forever.
