THE WAR IN LIBYA

I was there,, I witness the war in Libya .. As an OFW I sacrifice even i put my life in death just to give future to my 2 daughters, I sacrifice the fears in my heart every time I've heard gun firing and bombing nearby.

It was March 2013 when i arrived here in Benghazi Libya for work..We are lucky that even this is a Muslim country they are not strict there is a Catholic Church built and it is located in the city center.

Benghazi Cathedral is built between 1929- 1939 and was one of the largest churches in North Africa.The building was later used as a headquarters for the Arab Socialist Union. It later became vacant and derelict as of 2009,the Cathedral and its entire site are currently under renovation by an Italian Company.Photo before war happened.

Every Sunday we are going to church but the problem started when the second Civil War begun last 2014 to present.
The beuatiful church was damage due to millitants .

Due to clashes of different groups here in Benghazi Libya the crisis begin there are some areas closed because there is heavy fighting between military group and anti government group and one of the area is the city Corniche where the Benghazi Cathedral is located.

Aside from that church, Business Establishment, Schools, Hospital has been damage because of war , but truly if you have Faith to God He will protect you. I witness the war in Libya , even in my workplace we heard the exchange of fire gun and bombing, We heard screaming of the victim they brought in the hospital where i am working as staff nurse. , On that time i am just newly hired so even i want to go home because of danger situation in Libya , i can't go due that i need work to support my families , being a bread winner i need to sacrifice just to give good future to my 2 daughters . Some of my Filipino colleague went home in Philippines but me I can't .. I just bear in my mind if it is my time , then it will be. But i have big faith and trust to God and really He protect me from danger.

They put bomb anywhere , even in the malls, this is the photo of some building during war.

Recently last December 2016 and middle months of year 2017 there was a" so called" peace agreement. Some places here in Benghazi Libya are now quite but some others places still you can here bombings and gun firings..

Then they make clearing of some areas that you are safe if you want to visit the place and one of the areas is the Cathedral..Some of our colleagues revisited the area and this is the scene that you can see a very depressing situation to everybody..
