Add the "Read it later, Translate Page and Most visited search" feature in Lucid Browser
Repository
Introduction
Lucid Bowser is a browser and open source web application designed in small, lightweight and simple. Lucid Browser is very lightweight, only 3.9MB. Even though it looks light, all the features that you usually see in other mobile browsers are also available on Lucid Browser.
Components
The components (Features) I want to suggest is:
- Read it later
- Translate Page
- Most visited search
Proposal Description
I usually install 4 browsers on my smartphone. That's what I do because I have a side job online business on several social media. I use 3 of the 4 browsers to log in to some of my business accounts. Whereas 1 more browser I use for other purposes such as reading news or playing steemit.
Using a lightweight web browser application is certainly an option for me, so that my device will remain stable and not slow later. Accidentally when searching for a browser application on the Google Play Store, I found Lucid Browser. And I have been using this application for more than a week, and I just realized yesterday if this application is classified as open source.
After using Lucid Browser, I was honestly very impressed, because the features available were almost the same as other browsers, but what impressed me was that the capacity was very light. But there are several other supporting features that are not yet available in Lucid browser. Therefore, in this contribution I would like to suggest some features for Lucid Browser to improve user experience and also make Lucid Browser more attractive.
Read it later
This "Read it later" feature is useful for storing a page to open later offline. This feature is almost the same if you save a page on a PC / Computer using "Save Page As ...". With this feature, users can save search pages, be it News, Tutorials, or Information to read offline later.
This is indeed almost the same as the Bookmarks feature. But what distinguishes Bookmarks only stores URLs, while "Read it Later" stores the entire contents of the page.
Translate Page
Maybe I don't need to go too far to discuss this feature. And I think many users want this feature. Let's just illustrate, there are still many people who do not understand English. And to read articles on the Internet in different languages, of course we often use Google Translate. But it will be more interesting and efficient again, if Lucid Browser provides a "Translate Page" feature.
With the "Translate Page" feature, it will certainly improve user experience. Because if a user wants to translate one page, they don't need to go back and forth to copy-paste it into Google Translate. And they can translate all pages into various languages on Lucid Browser.
Most visited search
This is indeed not a big feature. But if you believe, this is very useful to display on HOME PAGE.
The "Most visited search" feature will display pages/sites that you visit frequently on the Home Page. This is certainly useful if you want to access it again at any time without having to retype the URL, and immediately click on the site icon on the Home Page.
Mockups / Examples
Below I will show examples of locations or illustrations if the features I recommend are implemented by the Developer.
Benefits
The benefits of the features above are as follows:
- With the "Read it later" feature, users can save the page to be opened at any time offline. This is useful if the user wants to find some references or news to save and open when desired. And "Read it later List" functions to display a list of saved pages.
- With the "Translate Page" feature users can translate pages into the desired language. With these feature, it is certainly more efficient and helps users if they want to translate something without having to access other translator applications.
- The "Most visited search" feature is useful for displaying pages / sites that are frequently visited, so that when the user wants to access again at any time it doesn't have to retype the URL or search again. They just click on the site icon available on the Home Page.
Conclusion
The features that I recommend are certainly very useful for users of Lucid Browser. And this will add value to the Lucid Browser application. And I hope, the developers of Lucid Browser will soon be able to implement this suggestion.
Hello @ahyar92!
Nice to see you contributing again.
As always, I am really impressed with the graphics used in the contribution. However I would say that, I am a little disappointed with the quality of features suggested in this contribution.
All the features suggested are very trivial and are commonly found in other similar applications.
There is no doubt that these features will indeed be a good addition but we expect good quality contributions from you. I do hope that you will keep this in mind and try to come up with unique contributions in the future.
Also, you are advised not to include personal experience of the application in the proposal description.
