While we may be very intelligent and talented, few of us work in isolation, so our ability to develop relationships with others determines how successful we are in our workplaces and in our relationships outside of work.

People are not born with natural abilities to develop and build great relationships with others. These skills, like others, can be learned and mastery if one notices the need for them and takes the time and effort to develop them.

We can all build better relationships by refining our minds and practicing some of the essential essentials, including:
Listen well
Everyone has a great desire to be heard and understood. Unfortunately a few of us learn how to be a good listener. Most people are busy thinking about what they want to say instead of listening to what the other person is saying.

Ask the right questions
The best way to let people know is to make sure that we first understand what they're saying. To do this we have to dig deeper and ask questions. We repeat to them what they said in our own words to make sure that what we heard is logical for us. One possible way to do this is to say: "What I heard you say was ...". When others feel that we are making a sincere attempt to understand them, they become more open to sharing with us more of what they think. This deepens the relationship and puts us in the category of people who want to search for them and talk to them.
Focus on the person as a whole
We tend to remember and appreciate people who ask us if everything is fine, even if we do not tell them we are upset. This shows us that they care about us, and we all want it. When someone speaks, he focuses not only on the style of his words, but also on the expressions of his face and the language of his body.
