The Man That Turned Back

Hello friends, it is another wonderful day the Lord has made and I will love to share a wonderful story with you titled THE MAN THAT TURNED BACK. Sit back and enjoy dear friends.

One day, friend J who is one of my favourite friends was on his way to Jerusalem. He had passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee when he met ten sick men standing far away from him. These men were ostracised by their families and friends because they were afflicted by a deadly disease, something worse than COVID-19. When they saw my friend, they called him, asking that he had mercy on them. And when he saw them, he took pity on them and then instructed them to go and meet the priests.

Every day I remember this story, I believe that he was directed by the Holy Spirit to instruct the 10 men to go and meet the priests. So back to my story, when these men heard what my friend said, they immediately headed to meet the priests. On the way to meet the priests, they looked at themselves and realized that they were well and no longer sick. I am sure that there were filled with a lot of emotions. While the others were yet to recover from the shock, one of the men turned back and with a loud voice, he glorified God for healing him. He fell at the feet of Friend J and gave thanks. And when my friend saw this, he asked the man if his nine friends who were healed alongside himself did not find it important to give thanks to God. Friend J then blessed the man that turned back to thank God and healed him forever. After this, they hugged each other and went their both ways.

When my friend told me this story in one of his books I was emotional as I felt both happy for the man that turned back and sad for the others that didn't come back to show their gratitude. I learned that gratitude is very important in life. According to the English dictionary, gratitude is the state of being grateful. Being grateful is the act of showing appreciation and giving thanks to someone for something.

How to Show Gratitude
You can show gratitude through the following steps:
1. Recognize what you are grateful for: You cannot be thankful for what you don't know. So the first step of showing gratitude is recognizing what you are grateful for.
2. Appreciation: After acknowledging what you are grateful for, admit that it has added positively to you. You can physical thank the person with words of mouth, through a message or by using what was given to you efficiently. This will let the person know that you value what was given to you.

Prayer is the simplest way to give thanks to God. It is very important to show gratitude when you receive it as it opens more doors for more good things to come in. I was once taught at church that grace works against ungrateful people.

King David in the bible is an example of someone who loved giving thanks to God. Below are a few Bible verses about thanksgiving I recite before I sleep and I will love to share them with my Steemit friends.
