My Tree Photography

What are trees?
Trees are tall plants that have thick, wooden stems and many large branches. Something similar to the plant in the image above.

They have a single stem or trunk and branches that support the leaves. Trees have three major parts: the root, the leaves and the stem. Each of these parts serves different purposes.

The leaves function like the nostrils. It takes in carbon dioxide gas from the air and releases the oxygen we all breathe. This process is known as photosynthesis. These gases pass through tiny pores on its leaves which are known as stomata.

Also, trees serve as homes for wildlife such as birds, giant pandas, orangutans, arboreal monkeys, bats, owls, foxes, frogs etc. These creatures inhabit the trunk and branches of these trees. A bird builds its nest on trees. Bees set their hives on trees. The tree is like a great house, it houses giant ants that sting badly and even tiny microscopic organisms. An example is microbes.

They have economic benefits. The barks are used to make cloth, ropes and canoes. Paper and tissue paper are gotten from trees as well.

The trunk of trees can also be used to make furniture or used in housing constructions.

Not all trees are fruit trees. Some trees contain materials that are extracted for different purposes, e.g. rubber trees, palm trees etc.

The roots of trees are vital to the earth. They keep the soil intact, thus, helping to check erosions. When there is a flood, trees are capable of restraining a lot of water. Their canopy prevents the rain from hitting the soil directly. It also limits the effect of the scorching sun on the earth. This is clearly why deforestation is discouraged and kicked against.

A Personal Tree Photography Experience

The pictures of the trees above were captured at Greenfield in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The field is large and open to all. It has beautiful-looking trees planted at strategic spots. The images were captured on a beautiful calm afternoon when I had gone there to read a book and relax while my sister prepared for one of her presentations. There are a lot of trees around and that is therapeutic.

You see, that is a good story but here is an awful one. I always loved sitting under the tree whenever we had football matches at the Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat Field. One day, I sat under a particular tree. Little did I know that my classmates had upset some ants. The ants did justice to the situation by falling on the people who were under the tree. I fidgeted so much that you would think a snake was on my body LOL but apart from that, the tree has always been a friend.

Trees symbolize growth and life. Growth is undeniably an important process in life.

The Greenfield at Brooks street has an ambience that's therapeutic. My visits there helps. Sincerely. The trees there are my favourite muse at the moment.

Just learnt something new about trees.

Sorry about the ants. Lol. At least, they were not bees🤣🤣

Please don't mention bees eh, the thought of it alone haha.
