The Importance Of Sharing Art
Today I got the chance to visit the Museo Ralli de Punta del Este, a museum filled with incredible pieces of art that go from paintings to sculptures, and more. And there are even a couple of works on display of none other than Salvador Dalí himself. Later on, I visited the Fundación Pablo Atchugarry, a nonprofit institution that displays the work of the sculptor Pablo Atchugarry, and other artists; created with the idea of bringing together visual arts, literature, music, dance, and others.
Breathtakingly beautiful, the place is surrounded by birds singing, lakes and undulated landscape where sculptures are placed as if they were growing from the grass.
What these two places had in common? Both are free of charge.
And, to be honest, that’s how I think it should always be. Yes, I’m aware that every art museum needs multiple sources of revenue since it costs money to run the place, but since most of them are tax exempt, it’s clearly possible to do so. The thing is, required admission fees would only mean restricting access to art, and a cultural hit in the face, to those who can’t afford it.
Museums provide culture and inspire learning, and if done right, it can lead to an increased sense of wonder and desire to explore. The idea of a person or child interested in art, and not being able to appreciate it and learn from it just because of a stupid fee, it feels morally wrong.
Free access is essential to provide cultural knowledge to those who haven't been able to get it anywhere else, and honestly, if you are not allowing the whole damn world to have access to it, then you are ruining the purpose of art itself.

Looks like you've had a great time exploring museums and it is great by the way. Everybody is busy in digital world yet you decided to give time to the culture. This is very inspiring dear :) following you for more, I hope i ll learn a lot from you in future :D @agsttne
very nice post, keep it up. make sure to check my art page too. artists need to come together on this platform to make a bigger impact.
I completely agree with your assessment that museums should be free. It seems like something our tax dollars should fund, like schools. There is nothing more magical than being transported to the past through great works or art!
Museum is always a destination to remind us about the past glories.
