I like the idea of emergency radio. Not much for chatter--more into information delivery and retrieval. Afraid I have nerd syndrome--by temperament. That's me. Born that way. But I think I will check out the radio clubs. Thanks. Ants... it's a project, been taking a while. So much information I have to wean it down.
Nerd syndrome is a good start to radio for sure!
The club I used to be involved in had someone go out to Colorado to help with the flooding and communications for that... He was still able to go out to his car and check in with his wife using digital radio (via his laptop and a radio.)
I'm going to wind down for the evening. Not going to bed just yet, but time to do some reading - might even have a quick look at the next outline I need... (I make myself take Sundays off.)
