Are you eating these healthy foods overloaded with pesticides? - by @dcrypto

We already know that eating fresh fruits and vegetables is essential to get a healthy body. However, due to overpopulation or any other reason, our food is getting polluted and we unknowingly eat the food thinking it does wonders for our system. We must not only look for healthier options but also for neat and clean food which contains less harmful chemicals in it. It is always a better idea to compromise in price when it comes to buying fruits and vegetables. In other words, spending more on quality food is way better than spending on hospitals.
“Environmental Working Group’s “Dirty Dozen list of 2018” in which we can see a lot of food items that are being cultivated with harmful chemicals is published.” They selected different food items that are polluted and food items that are not so polluted which means non-organic are acceptable in the list called “clean 15”. Since organic food is expensive and many cant afford it, you can look at both lists and buy accordingly.

It's a balancing act we have to play when it comes to farm-grown food, as pesticides do help prevent diseases. Yet over-exposure can be harmful to the human population.

I've read that washing vegetables in salt water can remove pesticide residue, bacteria and dirt limiting any negative effects they may have.

Salt water (namely a 10% salt water mix) has been proven to be more effective than plain water and more affordable than washing with vinegar. Another alternative would be to wash with baking soda, but I believe salt water is still the cheapest. Anyway, good post!

Awesome write up, quite thought provoking. The demand for fruit and vegetable keeps increasing everyday due to increasing in population and people become aware of the benefits of consuming fruit/vegetable. Farmers are quite under enormous to meet demand and even they are been face by different varieties of pest and this is the main reason pesticide are sometimes overuse. The agency in charge of food safety needs to do more analysis before allowing fruit been released into the market and there should be a law to punish farmers that exceeds the normal safety rule.

My husband and I started being more aware of what we put into our bodies when I got pregnant with my first child. Now we are a family of 4 and the $$$ of eating better has been overwhelming 😐😐😐, but it is all worth it.
