Abandoned Places..... Charters Creek
Situated inside the now iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a unesco world heritage site. This once vibrant camp site and lodge now dilapidated and forgotten, as the lake dried up, people lost interest in these pre-2000 camping hotspots.
The pool is cracked and only full on rain water these days.

on a strong south easterly wind the waters from the south get pushed up and fill the basin at charters creek, the recent rains and projects with rehabilitating the mouth has however contributed to water returning.
not my best one but an Osprey was fishing in the distance..
some buffalo in the grass on the way out.
a little down the road to the left there where some no entry signs, we shall explore them next time.

Yup In Zululand about halfway between durban and the Mozambique border about 25 km inland on the western shores of Lake Saint Lucia across from Hells Gate on a map, where the lake is over 20km wide.
