Making a cartoon picture - The Process

in #creativecoin7 years ago (edited)

Someone actually thought the cartoon pictures I make are just effects made on an image. He believed it can be done with image tools out there. According to him, all I had to do was click on one effect and change the picture. There might be a tool doing this, but I doubt how real it can be. It won't be better than something made gradually. Well he was surprised when I showed him the process and the tool I used in getting it done.

I'm here to display one of the toons I made. I'm still a learner though - I'll appreciate criticism to learn more. I've been glued to autodesk sketchbook pro ever since I learnt how to draw on it. The first thing to do is trace out the image on the picture which I did on the first image below.

Then I moved to the eyebrows.

Next was the eyes and nose.

Then the mouth and beards.

Coloring it up was the hardest part. I had to find the right colors and fill up the necessary places.

The finished product.

I'm still finding it difficult to shade. With time, I'll improve. If you want to get a cartoon picture, you can contact me on Discord (@afolwalex#9285)
