Let's Talk About $anchez

I'm very glad we sold him, and wish we would have in the summer. He is a tremendous player, there is no discrediting that whatsoever. His abilities are superb and he is truly a world-class player. But his problem, at least from my perspective, is that he plays for himself. There's nothing wrong with having a winning mentality and wanting to succeed and expecting your team mates to have that same hunger, drive, and determination (something AFC lacks often). But we saw the seen too often, gloves being thrown, storming off down the tunnel, ignoring handshakes, cursing under his breath. It all became a bit too much.

I don't know where this report came from so I can't attest to the validity of the quote, but sounds about right to me.

Now, do we expect this money-grubber to somehow be different now? In the summer he expressed his desire to leave AFC and join MCFC and link up with Pep again. Ok, I get it. He wants to mount a title challenge and win some silverware and the Kroenke/Wenger mafia doesn't seem like they have the same interest. But then out of left-field, ManUre are the frontrunners for his signature? Shocking. And then the numbers were released. All I could think was "Cash Grab".

Then he gets up a running. Realizing he's playing with Lingard and Lukaku. A bit of a downgrade from maestro Ozil and before that, the GOAT himself Messi. A bit of a backwards lineage happening with his career. But the attitude, is it the same? I say, same $anchez just different paycheck.

Again, no denying his talent, but his dispossession numbers this season are staggeringly high. Which means he holds onto the ball too fucking long and someone nicks it off him. It happened in every game he played for the Gunners this season. His stats weren't so hot yesterday either.

His miss on the open goal was delightful too.

We had our own open-goal kerfuffle that was unfortunate too though. I get Wenger's reaction, poor poor Laca.

But I think Alexi$'s was worse.
