Oh Naija! My Country...

My country Nigeria. oh my country, a land blessed with milk and honey, a land full of diverse cultures, different tribes, traditions and languages. The talk of nations, your sight is unimaginable, i call you the giant and beauty of Africa.

Oh where is my beloved country, where are the milk and honey, where are the happy and hard working people, where is the country that was talked and admired by all nations, where is the giant of Africa. Was it a myth that a country like this existed.

Could a country that has all this be a country where the leaders think of only their stomach and family, where tribalism is the talk of the day, where nothing goes for nothing, where politicians make sure that their family members occupy every position even when they don't merit it, a country where an average girl of 10 - 16 is molested, raped or married by the ones who are supposed to protect her.

A country where the youth which they claim to be the leaders of tomorrow are used for their selfish interests and allow to kill for them and also lose their life in the process, where graduates sell on the streets or push trucks for survival since there is no job, a country where everyone lives in fear of boko haram or Fulani herdsmen, not knowing which is coming for you, some head's of states will call us a breeding ground for Terrorism.

Where did we lose it all, how did it all go wrong, from a giant to a baby that is helpless n pitied by all nations that once admired it. It's time for us all to wake up and regain our lost glory. The Nigeria of today can be better if we all put away our differences, tribe, language, culture and religion and have one aim. A tree can't make a forest, Nigeria needs us all to regain the lost glory, We are the giants of Africa.

I write this not to castigate my beloved country, but hold on... So many other countries too numerous to mention are worse and can't be compared. But I'm passing a message of Hope. We may be what we are today, But I believe that things will get better, we are strong and we are resilient!
It's all about you and I to take a stand and spin the right wheel of Change.

I celebrate every Nigerian on steemit
We are Strong...
We are Powerful...
The World should get ready for Us!
