It all started September 2014, i was on YouTube watching some videos relating to vocals when i came across some of Tori Kelly's videos. Immediately i saw her, i fell in love with her music, her vocals...everything about her. He ability to play the guitar and sing at the same was ravishing and catchy. "My gosh! She plays and sings so well", i thought to myself.

That was how it started. A beautiful girl that sings and plays the guitar was what prompted me to learning the guitar. I was like, "if she can do it, so can i"

So, i got online, surfing the net for books that teaches guitar playing for beginners. I came across some amazing books like; learn and master guitar by Steve Krenz, Guitar for dummies...and many others. I also got some videos as well. I was so excited that i was finally going to learn a musical instrument.

I started off reading books and watching videos, without practicing with a guitar. So, i was playing an imaginary guitar, which was very exciting by the way.

Two months later, i got my first acoustic guitar and started off. The journey was amazing. I played for hours everyday. I started off with jazz music, which is not the best genre for a beginner to start with. Although it helped, it was very confusing at first because then, i didn't understand accidental movements and all. It took me a well to understand why someone would play chords outside of the key of the song. It got easy with time.

Because i came into the music world, I met some amazing musicians that greatly affected my playing. One of them, had a huge impact in my music life.

My First Live Performance

I was terrible! The sound was bad, i was not used to playing an electric guitar. I was singing as well as playing at the same time and i had not mastered the art. I didn't put the Guitar belt properly so, the guitar kept slipping off my shoulder...to summarize it, it was terrible. Argh!

My First Studio Session

I used my guitar so, it was easy and sweet. A friend of mine linked me up with a gospel singer that needed an acoustic cover of his song. So, he called me up to help with that. Everything went smoothly but we spent hours in the studio, which i found rather annoying than exciting.

Personal Growth

Because of the hours i put into rehearsals, i grew very fast. I had to discipline myself to learn the musical staff. I didn't have a music teacher so most of my practical techniques were more intense because i had to discipline myself.

What Music Means To Me

1. Music is a spirit.

When i realized this, it changed my whole idea about music.
I saw a video of 'gravity' by John Mayer. In the video were people waving their hands in the air as though it was a gospel worship song.

1. Music is Life.

Everything about me has music in it. Life without music is like a black and white portrait. You won't get the full picture.

Every genre! Mostly jazz and funk tho. I love blues also.

My music is part of my being I. You can not separate the two.

My guitar has been bad for weeks. My fingers are as though they want to explode. It is as though i am starving...
