Bodybuilding- why sleep is most important for beginners
Hello. I am in many forums related to bodybuilding and fitness. When I review them, I come across a lot of discussion about: Why sleep is so important in bodybuilding?
Let's start from the beginning:
1. Why do you need a lot of sleep?
When you are lifting weights you experience a lot of physical effort. Your muscles are tired, you need to eat a high protein meal that will "rebuild" tired muscles. But second in muscle building, just after eating is SLEEPING. When we sleep our body is "muted" to the maximum degree, regenerates. It is then that all protein, fats, carbohydrates are best absorbed, resulting in faster "rebuilding" of tired muscles. As a result, muscles become bigger and stronger.
How much sleep?
First of all, you have to sleep regularly. When you sleep one night 4 hours, the other night 9 hours and the third night 6 hours Your body is in a "slight shock" because when your body gets used to "rest" 6 hours at night and the next night "rests" only 4 hours after waking up You may be weak and not willing to do anything. It is recommended to sleep from 8 to 10 hours, of course depends mainly on the body, but it is recommended not to sleep less than 7 hours.
A dream according to Arnold Schwarzenegger:
-Maximal muscle growth can occur only when the body has enough rest and sleep.
-A minimum of eight hours of good nighttime sleep is required.
- Walk for the same hour to sleep because the body benefits from regularity
- Up to ten hours of sleep is required for rapid muscle development
-It is also important to save energy during the day
-Although a half-hour nap is beneficial, you can sleep when you return home
In my opinion, sleep is one of the most important factors for muscle growth. Thank you for reading, see you!
Good article. I only can wish that someone had told me about sleeping and muscle growth almost 20 years ago when I was in high school and first starting out at weight lifting along with other things like eating to feed the muscle growth and other things.
Never is too late :)
eat, lift SLEEP, repeat :P
Great post and true, sleep and regeneration have immense impact on your muscle growth!
Upvoted :)
How about Arnold Schwarzenegger, he once said that "there is 24 hours in a day, you sleep 6 hours, then you have 18 hours left. you might say that you sleep 9 or 10 hours, but then i would recommend you to sleep faster'
Great article! Have you ever looked into ZMA (zinc and magnesium) supplements? Supposedly it really helps you sleep deeper and faster muscle recovery.
