Part 2/3 - Which groups to choose?

in Project HOPE2 years ago (edited)

Dear Steemit Community

Each LinkedIn member can subscribe to 50 different groups and an unlimited number of subgroups. But it is better to actively participate in a few groups than to register for a large number of groups without really committing to them.

To find interesting groups, you have the choice between several approaches.

The easiest way is to use the search engine: select the “groups” tab on the left of the window, then enter your keywords. A list of groups then appears, sorted by group size. You can then refine your search by using the filters in the left column (language, country, etc.). For each group, you will find a brief description, the number of members and an indication of the activity of the group.
LinkedIn group search
Another source of inspiration: browse your contacts' profiles to see which groups they follow. You will certainly find some nuggets there.
Finally, under the “groups” tab, below the groups you belong to, you will find a “ groups you might like ” section. LinkedIn is great at finding groups that reflect your interests.
3 selection criteria
Number of members (to expand your network, it is better to choose a few large groups)
Group activity (make sure the group is alive)
discussions regarding topic (scroll latest topics )
Tip LinkedIn itself hosts many groups. Join a LinkedIn group to study how it's done.
Group mechanics
The groups are an opportunity to get closer to interesting professional contacts and to discuss topics that are close to your heart. The richest discussions are the place to exchange relevant content for your sector of activity.

The effectiveness of a discussion is based on three elements:
a title that encourages discussion (80 characters on a line, 200 max)
Note : the title can be found in 3 places: in the group's discussion thread, in the news of those who participate in the discussion, in the email summaries sent to members.
an introduction that gives the context and the issue of the discussion (4000 characters maximum)
a link to an article (from the web or your blog) to feed the discussion and open the debate.
Note: This link usually includes a title, image, and brief introduction provided by the site or blog it points to. Be careful not to duplicate this content with your title & introduction information.
