The song for the ages

Looking at you fill me with wonder
Knowing you were once younger
And could run unaided
Now need to be guided.

Beauty in years gone by unparalleled
Pictures show a gait unrivalled
Now has to be supported
With grandchildren you are spotted.source

Hair then black and silky
Now white and shining
Teeth then could crush a mountain
Good now for the fish in the fountain.

Stories you tell full of wisdom
Pray you will live forever in the kingdom
World without you will be empty
You that birth the greatest.
You that milk the greatest

The ages are once in vogue but now old fashion
Grey hair once cute and beautiful,
But time eats it up.
Such is life a maiden who was once parade by able man.

The old are always useful,
They never stop looking after the younger ones.
They might be old in look, but strong in spirit.
They might be dying in body but pure in spirit.source

NOTE
This is a poem celebrating old age.
The poet is full of wonder at the aged that
used to be young from the picture the aged
took when younger. He is amazed at the
frailty of the aged compared to when young
but have to be supported by grandchildren
now.
