Get more subscribers on YouTube And Get Monetised

This video is targeted mainly at my YouTube audience. It would also apply to us here on DTube if we had enough users.
Getting subscribers in this day and age isn't very easy. People don't appear to subscribe anymore since the YouTube search function is now so good. Most of the people that watch my videos on YouTube are non-subscribers!
However, one of the criteria required by YouTube in order to get monetised is the 1000 subscribers threshold. So how does one achieve this?
I snuck in a cheeky shill for DTube of course.

Actually this one is my main account, but I just mess around on it. I have hundreds of videos in private mode because they're old and I don't like them seen anymore haha. The 'analogue photography' one is called "Old Cameras" on YouTube. That's my most sub'ed one.
