Nice people are not dumb people simply because they give chances to people time and again who abuse them. They do so because they have a forgiving heart in hope they will change for the better but once they are done, they are done for good
You expressed the truth. Often, I have been in this position. For me, I may give a person several chances to be aware of the warm or hurt that they are doing to me. But after awhile, if I see no effort towards change I make the decision to learn to forgive them, however, I also realize that it’s in my best interest to let them go.
