Introducing myself

Hello Steemians,

I'm very delighted to be in the community with you all. My name is Adekunle Adeoluwa, a civil defence officer from Nigeria. I am married with two beautiful girls. My job as a security officer has been quite interesting, however, if i were opportuned, i would have chosen painting as my life profession. Even though i didn't study visual art in college, i believe with my xperience, i can call myself a self made artist

You may wonder why i didn't study art in scool. My parents saw no promising future in artistic works for career pursuit... and well, in this part of the world where i came from, some disciplines and career paths are considered as lacking financial security, hence they loose prestige. As a result, some kids, like me get thwarted from their passion and talents ( too bad, right....?).

In resent times visual art has come to the limelight in my country and i'm determined to pursue with passion my desire to be a realism painter. I paint more with gouache colours because i am a natural at it and well, you must have heard of the saying that "a man's gift make way for him". I've sold some of my paintings in the past few years.

Here on Steemit, i'll be displaying paintings on nature, likewise paintings that portray cultures and tribes in Nigeria, hoping to enlighting you on some of our way of life. Although, infiltration of western civilization is gradually eroding many cultures in different parts of the world, most especially in Africa. I will try my best to make alive some of the forgotten cultures and cultural heritage in my country through my illustrations.
