(چالاک آدمی)
ایک دفعہ ایک چالاک اور دھوکے باز شخص نے کہیں سے ایک گدھا چوری کیا اور اسے فروخت کرنے کے لیے قریبی بازار لے گیا۔ بازار جانے سے پہلے اس نے گدھے کے منہ میں اشرفیاں ٹھونس کر کپڑے سے اچھی طرح بند کر دیا۔
بازار کی پُر ہجوم جگہ پر کھڑے ہوکر اس نے گدھے کے منہ سے کپڑا ہٹا دیا، جیسے ہی کپڑا ہٹا گدھے کے منہ سے اشرفیاں نکل کر زمین پر گرنے لگیں۔ سکّوں کی جھنکار سن کر لوگ متوجہ ہوگئے، اور حیران ہوکر پوچھنے لگے کہ گدھے کے منہ سے سکّے وہ بھی سونے کے! یہ کیا ماجرا ہے؟
دھوکے باز کہنے لگا، بھائیو یہ ایک عجیب و غریب گدھا ہے اور میں اس سے بہت تنگ ہوں، میں جب بھی پریشان یا اداس ہوتا ہوں تو دن میں ایک بار اس کے منہ سے سونے کی اشرفیاں گرنے لگتیں ہیں۔ اب تو میرے گھر میں اشرفیاں رکھنے کی جگہ بھی نہیں بچی، اس لیے میں چاہتا ہوں کہ اسے کوئی ضرورت مند اور جانوروں سے پیار کرنے والا تاجر خرید لے۔ لوگوں نے اشرفیاں گرتی ہوئی اپنی آنکھوں سے دیکھ لی تھیں اور باقی کا قصّہ سن کر ہر کسی کی خواہش یہی تھی کہ یہ گدھا جتنے میں بھی مل جائے سستا ہے۔

ایک دوسرے سے بڑھ چڑھ کر بولیاں لگاتے ہوئے، آخر کار ایک بڑے تاجر نے خطیر رقم کے عوض اسے خرید لیا۔ فروخت کرنے والے نے رقم اور زمین پر گرے ہوئے سکّے سمیٹے اور گھر چلا گیا۔

جس تاجر نے گدھا خریدا تھا، وہ فخر سے گردن اکڑائے ہوئے چل رہا تھا اور اہلِ قریہ اس کے پیچھے پیچھے چلتے ہوئے اس کے گھر تک پہنچ گئے۔ سارے لوگ مل کر اداس اور پریشان شکلیں بنا کر گدھے کے ارد گرد بیٹھ گئے۔ لوگ گھنٹوں بیٹھ کر انتظار کرتے رہے اور بالآخر وہ سچ مچ پریشان ہوگئے۔ اس دوران گدھا جو کب سے بھوکا تھا اس نے خوب چارہ کھایا مگر ایک سکّہ تک نہ گرا۔

آخر وہاں سے کسی دانا کا گزر ہوا۔ اس نے بتایا کہ تمھارے ساتھ دھوکا ہوچکا ہے۔ اس سے پہلے کہ فروخت کرنے والا بھاگ جائے، فوراً اس دھوکے باز کو پکڑو۔ وہ تاجر اور اہلِ قریہ اکٹھے ہو کر جب اس دھوکے باز کے گھر کے باہر پہنچے اور دروازہ کھٹکھٹا کر اس کے متعلق استفسار کیا تو اندر سے اس دھوکے باز کی بیوی نے کہا کہ وہ تو کہیں کام سے دوسرے گاؤں گئے ہوئے ہیں۔ آپ باہر ہی انتظار کریں میں اپنا پالتو کتّا بھیجتی ہوں، یہ جاکر انہیں آپ کے متعلق بتائے گا اور انہیں ہر صورت ساتھ بھی لے کر آئے گا۔ لوگ دل چسپی سے دیکھنے اور سوچنے لگے کہ یہ کیسے ہوسکتا ہے کہ کتّا اپنے مالک کو گھر لائے۔

Once a cunning and deceitful man stole a donkey from somewhere and took it to a nearby market to sell. Before going to the market, he stuffed the nobles in the donkey's mouth and closed it tightly with a cloth.
Standing in a crowded place in the bazaar, he removed the cloth from the donkey's mouth. When the people heard the sound of the coins, they were amazed and asked in amazement that the coins from the donkey's mouth were gold too! What's the matter?
The deceiver began to say, "Brother, this is a strange donkey and I am very tired of it. Whenever I am upset or sad, once a day, gold nobles start falling from its mouth." Now there is no space left in my house to keep the nobles, so I want it to be bought by a needy and animal loving trader. People had seen the nobles falling with their own eyes and after hearing the rest of the story, everyone wanted that this donkey is as cheap as it can get.

Bidding more than one, the big businessman finally bought it for a hefty sum. The seller collected the money and the coins that had fallen on the ground and went home.

The merchant who had bought the donkey was walking proudly with his neck stiffened and the villagers followed him to his house. All the people together sat around the donkey making sad and upset faces. People sat and waited for hours and finally they got really upset. During this time, the donkey, which had been hungry for a long time, ate well but did not lose a single coin.

At last a wise man passed by. He said that you have been deceived. Catch the fraudster immediately before the seller runs away. When the merchant and the villagers came together outside the house of the swindler and knocked on the door and inquired about him, the wife of the swindler said from inside that he had gone to another village for work. You wait outside I send my pet dog, it will go and tell them about you and bring them along anyway. People began to watch with interest and wondered how it was possible for a dog to bring its owner home.
