Transmogrification

Earsplitting silence,
Benign virulence,
Eating away the vestiges,
Burning down the bridges,
Alone amidst many,
Wealthy on many a penny,
A life full of contradictions,
Seemingly fraught with maledictions.

Condemned to a Sisyphean ordeal,
Grotesque fusion of illusion and the real,
A transmogrification in the offing,
Into a phenom gradually morphing,
Like a phoenix being reborn,
Purified by flames that perpetually burn,
But wary of an end in sight,
And resigned to the plight.
