The entry of people like kitoye ajasa , who established the nigeria pioneer into the journalism scence in 1914 was the beginning of the real indigenous of journalism in nigeria.
Kitoye ajasa, a succesfull lawyer, who had made a name at the bar before he decided to go into journalism on a vocational basis felt that there was a need for a newspaper, which would not only look forward, but also backward i order to be more stable and solid.
The paper folded up in 1936 after twenty-two years of existence.
