Kokie Cosmetics Translucent Powder Review

in #makeup8 years ago (edited)

Good Morning!! How are you on this beautiful Tuesday? We are all doing great here at 523!!

I'm already looking forward to the weekend!! We have big plans for Caleb and I on Saturday to go to the Strawberry farm that just opened up this year. We are going to be able to pick tons of fresh strawberries. I think Caleb will be over the moon excited to be able to do that!! He loves strawberries and because we are very much the "city type" we don't venture off too often onto farms of any sort. So this will be a new experience for him....and I

Brad will be working this weekend so he won't be able to join us...but he's not too disappointed though. LOL I try to plan activities that I know Brad doesn't care too much about, for weekends when he has to work. That way Caleb and I can enjoy our time and not miss out on fun adventures and Brad doesn't have to endure such activities that don't interest him. It works out for us all. LOL

But let's talk some more Kokie Cosmetics ok? Today we are continuing with the Kokie Translucent Powder

So Kokie's description is:

"Hello gorgeous! Get a flawless complexion with this lightweight, sheer finishing powder. Its natural-matte finish gives you a beautifully radiant, smooth glow. This colorless powder fits nearly all skin tones and won’t disperse color or oxidize as it settles! Just put a little on your favorite fluffy brush and swipe onto your face for a softly matte finish that won’t cake up later."

Natural finish
Sheer coverage
Non-cakey

I am sitting just fine with Kokie's claims on their powder. It's colorless, it does NOT oxidize, it doesn't look cake-y or powdery, it does not have color so the claim of "sheer" is correct and it's "natural matte" finish is also spot on.

I tested this against my Air Spun translucent powder that I have used for years and years and find it to be near exact to the Kokie. I have been using Air Spun for so long because of the reliability I have with the product. I love the look it gives and I can either bake with it or I can just dust it across my face if need be. The same can be most certainly said for the Kokie.

To me the powder looks beautiful on the skin, just as beautiful as the Air Spun

I have no problems whatsoever with any of the claims that the brand makes and will stand behind them for sure. Therefore I have no twinge of guilt when I say "yes, it's a good setting powder".

However.....my ONLY ONE complaint is the amount of product you get with it.

For the price of $9.97 you get .18 oz.

I have used up this pot of powder and had to break into it to get the very last remnants of it to use.

The Air Spun powder has 2.3 oz and cost $5.97. That's my one and only draw back on this powder. I guess because I have oily skin and I am a "heavy baker" of my face that I will use a lot more powder than possibly most others, so the powder will not last me long having only .18 oz in it.

But I swear that is the absolute only drawback. Other than the size, I love the look, feel and the true claims of the powder and I would recommend it for sure.

But that's all the review I have for today. Tomorrow I have a very dramatic eye look that I created with the Covergirl quad in "Notice Me Nudes" and am excited to share with you. I hope you will come back and see me again tomorrow.

Until then, take care!

-Kim
