"Every love story is beautiful, but ours is the funniest"

Even though I really do love the hubs and my love story, it was the farthest thing from Romeo and Juliet. In fact, I really didn't care too much for Brad (the hubs) when I finally met him, to be really factual, I was much more interested in his brother instead, I just didn't know it was his brother. :/
Just for a little FYI, Brad and I have been together for 19 years, and married for 14. I always joked about how it took Brad 5 years to decide if I was the "right one" for him. But in fact, I was only 16 when we started dating (officially), so I did't expect him to "put a ring on it" right away.
We had originally met when I was about 15 and a freshman in high school. He was a senior who had a friend that I played softball with. When his friend told me about this guy named "Tiny" that wanted to meet me, I was intrigued to say the least. He was never pointed out to me, nor was his actual name ever used then, so I had no clue who this person was. But the fact that he was a senior was enough to perk up my little freshman ears. His friend said that he was going to come to our game that night and she would introduce me to him. I spent the entire afternoon as well as the 90 minute game a nervous wreck looking around, and knowing that someone out there was watching me and I had no clue who he was. Not to mention my playing that afternoon was the worst ever!! But, it didn't matter, because the notorious "Tiny" never showed up. Yep, I got stood up by a person whom I had never met, nor even knew his name.
I never heard anymore about him until months later when the same friend asked me to go to a party at her friend's house and low and behold, the infamous "Tiny" was there. I got a little bit better response when I was introduced, he at least said "hi", but after that I didn't see him until later that night. I kind of wish I hadn't though. When we got ready to leave, he appeared out of no where and decided to throw me and my brand new suede boots into the pool. My boots were ruined, I had the hardest time getting off my already too tight jeans and I was wearing a white shirt, I despised "Tiny" and now was starting to despise my so called "friend / matchmaker".
Skipping past a full year and I had long forgot about Tiny and everything about him, although I hadn't forgot about my beautiful boots (I can still feel the blood boiling right this second over my boots). I became completely infatuated with another boy at school. I chased him a good portion of my Sophomore year, but to no avail. He was certainly not interested in me and after months of chasing, I decided that he made a really good friend instead. I moved along and dated a couple more mistakes and by the end of the year I had suffered a major heartbreak. I was devastated by my broken heart and while looking for a good friend's shoulder to cry on, I was shocked to find "Tiny" to be the one who comforted me. We live in a small town, so any news was heard within seconds of occurring. And at that time he was just a friend, nothing more and that was all I needed. Soon after, the friendship developed into more and about a month into our friendship we realized it was much, much more than that. Not to mention, I found out his name (yep, it took me a month of friendship to get his real name) which was a relief. I much rather call him Brad as opposed to Tiny. One thing I wasn't too fond of was that I found out the guy I had a hard crush on for months on end turned out to be Brad's little brother. That was really embarrassing to say the least. And even now I don't usually mention my crush on Brad's brother, I think it makes him feel a little weird, not to mention my humiliation that goes along. But that was how it all began.
Looking back, I love to think about our relationship, how we met and finally became a couple and can laugh about it. I can't say I would have had it different, but I can't say I enjoyed the beginnings of meeting Brad either. So I guess it just is what it is and am grateful of the outcome. Together we have been happily married (most of the time, LOL) and have a gorgeous little boy whom is the light of our lives. So it really doesn't matter how we got here, I am just thankful we did and pray daily that it will last forever.
I guess our love story is not a Shakespeare novel type but, it has sure made for a very funny story.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know my husband and my love story. If you think our meeting was humorous, you really should hear of our horrific wedding we had. People still talk about it today even.

Thanks for reading everyone.
